As we enter the final quarter of the year, now is a great time to take stock of where you are and achieve everything you can in quarter four.

  1. Take a look at yourself
If the performance hasn’t been good enough start by taking a look at your work ethic and motivation to succeed. If that has been below what you would expect, then it is best to be honest with yourself, put that right and move on.
  2. Take a look at your business
Assuming you are happy with the above, take a look at your business. A note of caution when doing this, be careful not to give your whole business the board brush approach and assume everything is shot. It is often one part of the recruitment cycle causing the problem, not the entire process. Unfortunately it can often boil down to some of the really basic daily activities like number of new candidates generated, managers added, candidates with multiple interviews, jobs with multiple interviews etc.
  3. Time to move on
Get to the bottom of one and two, realise you can control the next month/quarter, be clear with your motivations, set your goals and get started now.
